Event live streaming from your phone
To live stream an event from your phone, install Stream-It on an Android phone, put it on a tripod facing the stage for the wide shot, connect more phones for close-ups and the aisle, add names and your logo as overlays and go live to YouTube, Facebook or both. It records a copy while it streams.

Cover the stage like a TV crew
Launches, award nights, annual days, conferences and seminars all follow the same plan: a wide of the stage that never moves, a close-up for faces and the key moment, and one phone free to roam. With those three you can always cut to something worth watching.
- Stage wide: the production phone on a tripod at the back or centre.
- Close-up: near the stage for speakers, winners and the key moment.
- Aisle: from the side, for walk-ins and the audience.
- Roaming: a helper walks around for reactions and details.
Screens and overlays for an event
Prepare a Screen for each part of the programme: Welcome, Wide, Close-up, Side by side, Be right back and Thank you. Add speaker names and the event title as text overlays and your logo as an image overlay. For a conference, a web page overlay can show slides or the event page.
Lock your overlays once they're placed, so nobody moves them by accident during the ceremony.
Sound and internet at the venue
Good sound matters more than a sharp picture. Sit close to the speakers, or use a microphone, and balance the sound in the mixer. Check the venue Wi-Fi or mobile data before the day: only the production phone needs internet, and camera phones on the same Wi-Fi need none.
Key facts about Stream-It
- What it is: Stream-It by CrickHunt is a live streaming app for Android that turns phones into a live production. One phone runs the show: it switches cameras, Screens, overlays and sound, streams and records.
- Platforms: YouTube, Facebook and any other platform that gives you an RTMP or RTMPS server address and stream key. Several platforms at the same time from one phone.
- Cameras: the production phone's own camera plus other phones that join as cameras, on the same Wi-Fi (no internet needed between them) or over the internet with a camera code or link.
- On screen: text, images and logos, a logo slider, web page overlays and video clips; Screens you switch live; Starting soon and Be right back screens; break music and a sound mixer with faders.
- Quality: 720p and 1080p, and 2K or 4K where the phone can do it. Auto quality lowers the bitrate on a weak network, and recording on the phone keeps going if the internet drops.
- What you need: an Android phone, a Stream-It account (log in with your phone number) and, to go live, internet on the phone that sends the stream.
- Availability: Android on Google Play; iPhone app coming soon; Windows production desk coming soon (join the waitlist).
Questions people ask
Can I live stream an event from my phone?
Yes. Stream-It turns an Android phone into the camera and control room. Add more phones as cameras, put the event title and logo on screen and go live to YouTube, Facebook or other platforms.
How do I live stream a conference or seminar?
Put one phone wide on the stage, one close to the speaker and one on the audience. Add speaker names as text overlays and the slides or event page as a web page overlay if you need them.
Do I need the venue's Wi-Fi?
The production phone needs internet to stream: venue Wi-Fi or mobile data. Camera phones on the same Wi-Fi as the production phone need no internet of their own.
Can I stream to YouTube and Facebook at the same time?
Yes. Turn on both before you go live and the same show goes to both from one phone. Other platforms work with their RTMP or RTMPS server address and stream key.
Can I record the event too?
Yes. The production phone records while it streams, and the recording keeps going if the internet drops.
